Division 2 No. 6-ranked Farmington Hills Mercy won the Michigan High School Athletic Association Region 12 girls golf championship on Thursday, Oct. 7, at Farmington Hills Golf Course.

   Mercy scored 353 to win the championship. No. 4-ranked Port Huron

Northern was second at 367. Grosse Pointe South was third at 383.

   Freshman Maeve Casey led the Marlins, shooting 81. Junior Chloe Vig shot 87. Sophomore Abby Slankster finished at 92. Junior Mia Juday shot 93. Freshman Lila Polakowski shot 104.

   The MHSAA Division 2 championship is Friday-Saturday, Oct. 15-16, at Bedford Valley, Battle Creek.
