2021 MHSAA Division 3 Girls Golf Champions: Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood

   Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood won its first Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 3 Girls Golf Championship since 2006 on a chilly, windy Saturday, Oct. 16, at Michigan State University’s Forest Akers West.

   Cranbrook won with a two-day score of 694. Grosse Ile was second at 700. Grand Rapids South Christian finished third at 708.

   The Cranes’ featured three seniors making their fourth appearance in  the state tournament: Natasha Samsonov (163), Ashley Cong (175) and

 Katherine Li (186). Sophomores Sienna Ilitch and Mackenzie Behnke posted 175 and 189, respectively.

   “For my seniors that played today, this was their fourth state (finals tournament). They played in it as freshmen. … For them, they weren’t nervous,” Cranbrook head coach John Minnich told reporters.

   Cranbrook also won its MHSAA regional championship, the Catholic High School League Bishop Division championship, and the Oakland County Tier 1 tournament this season.

   Cranbrook Kingswood also had finished Division 3 runner-up from 2012-14.
